Blogging - Discovering Comments

Interaction with your readers is what makes the difference between a website and a blog. To be able to converse with readers is an opportunity that purely website owners normally do not have the pleasure. Visitors to your blog have the opportunity to leave comments. Sometimes these comments are purely replying to your blog, or a suggestion or just a question for you to answer. Always make sure that you respond to any comments that require a response.

You can open the comments page by clicking on the comments tab. You will be opened to a new page. You can have your comments set to be checked first before you allowed them to be published. This is the preferred way, as there are plenty of not so nice people out there that always have the need to comment in very negative ways. After a comment is made it will be displayed in the comments section of your blog. The comment will usually have a label displaying the writers name and the date and time posted.

Not every blog allows comments, you can have your settings set for this, and normally this is not the case unless the site gains so much popularity that the comments are overwhelmed by the sheer volume. I would recommend that you leave your comments turned on, as comments are the easiest way to learn and improve the content of your blog. Gaining valuable feedback about your blog is the best way to also involve your audience in your topic.

Unfortunately there is one draw back and that is spammers. They can take advantage of comments as easily as sending unwanted e-mail. Keeping comments on will always attract spammers, so set your settings to screen comments first. Spammers use your blog as a way of advertising their products with links etc. Some times these can be offensive, so beware. Just delete the inappropriate comments before publishing. You audience will appreciate your comments being of clean content.
