Endlessly Rambling in Blog Posts?

Blogging is all the rage, first a fad, then a trend and now a way of life and part of our daily lives. There are social network bloggers, political pundit bloggers, corporate communication bloggers, government agency bloggers and even small business bloggers. And, it really does not matter what type of blogging you do, because if you engage in endless rambling, you will eventually turn off your readers and cause your blog's popularity to dwindle.

There is a fine line between conversation styles in blogging and discussing concepts and rambling on and on. When does a blog post cross the line ask many bloggers when thinking on this subject? And how can you post a stream of consciousness blog post without rambling? Well, if you are going to ramble, then label the blog post such, use terms like;

  • Rant
  • Musings
  • Rambling
  • Random Thoughts
  • Thinking Out Loud
  • Stream of Thought
  • Thoughts of the Day

Then this let's your reader realize the type of post it will be. It's okay to do this once in a while, but it's not wish to do it all the time on a small business blog or a blog that deals with a special niche or sub-sector of an industry. It definitely is not wise on Corporate blogs.

Some personal blogs can get away with this all the time, and they will slowly develop an interesting crowd of readers, but again if this is what the blog is about, then the blog itself needs to be titled in the appropriate manner as well. Please consider this.
